It’s Monday, and it feels really nice outside.
Today so far I have planted Dill, Chamomile, and Basil outside my front door. I have a few more things to plant before the day is over.
It’s also the day I tend to my indoor plant babies as well as my fish tank.
My fish tank is a super functional eco system that really keeps two very large (maybe they need a trim) aquatic plants. One of which has overtaken a piece of drift wood and has grown into it. It’s very very cool. There is also a moss ball that has tripled in size since I’ve had it. (Two years, maybe)
At the bottom of the plant is substrate, aka the rocks as the bottom. I use a natural substrate and not little colorful pebbles.
In the fish tank I have a Black Lancer Catfish which is a smaller fresh water catfish. He is a bottom feeder so he helps with maintaining the fish poop and left over fish food. He also gets catfish pellets.
There is also two Pink Tetra fish and another fish that I can’t remember the kind. She’s new to the tank. She’s orange.
Currently there are only two Vitta Zebra Snails and they are bottom feeders as well. They are the clean up crew. They eat fish poop and glide along the aquarium glass and keep the glass clean. The only problem I have ran into with them is that when they reproduce… they really reproduce. I mean you wake up one day with a hundred teeny tiny snails all over the tank. (The babies will get into your fish filter and die and smell awful if you don’t stay on top of them) The big snails also have a bottom feeder pellet that I toss in when I feed the fish.
I use a cheap filter from Petco and my tank is always clean and running smoothly. I’ve had the tank for five years now almost and I love it. It’s a very relaxing sound to fall asleep to.
Enough about my fish tank, though.
I’m going to go tend to my plants and knock a few things off my to do list before I go pick up my son from school.
As always, with love,
